As I clean up and finesse the characters, we are that much closer to a complete game.
But danger lurks because there still a lot of testing to do so we make sure that we're not crappy pencils. You know what I mean? You ever buy a set of those nice beautiful colour pencils for you or your kids and you think it's just so great and then you go to sharpen the damn things and the lead breaks over half the time. Pisses me off. So I'm trying to avoid that!
I feel like this is a Bill Burr moment.
After putting out the demo in October, it's was unexpected that so many bugs would surface because that damn burger was tested over and over again, but lessons learned that when you tinker with one thing, the cascading effect messes with everything else you've made, and a ton of things need to be reconfigured and when you fix those things you gotta go back to the beginning to see if it all works.
I never knew that making something like a pause screen would be such a hassle. Honestly, the things we take for granted are probably innumerable.
Anyways, I'm looking forward to seeing this wonderful experiment turned project see the light of day.
My only set back is do I release this before the New Year or do I wait until Steam Next Fest in March 2025?
I know there's going to be things I've overlooked if I rush it.
